Lovin' this sem

I'm simply loving this short semester. Learning a new language (Japanese) and Malayisan Literature. Monday and Tuesday are the days where I learn new words, pronunciations, phrases... in Japanese. Thursday and Friday are the days when I get to read story after story.

Dear course mates who are taking Mandarin, have fun!! "bo po mo fo..." hehe... I still remember Ju mentioned this in mamak sometimes ago, which Vivien reminded me in her blog, "Wo jin nian yi shi er sui!" (she was trying to say she's 21, but said she's 12) Joker betul la Ju! Then as I was trying my Jap, I replied Ju: "Anatawa ju issai!" (means you are 21 years old) Mana tau that Ju heard 'Ju eat sai!' *sweat* Hahaha....

Basically, what do I focus these days during this short semester are just 2 things: practice my Japanese language and read stories. How can I not love this life? I have waited for this moment long enough...

FUN!!!! Yes... BUT short semester means the usual long semester 14 weeks of lessons are to be completed in 7 weeks. In other word, we have shorter time to complete our lessons. Imagine other people learn Japanese language in 14 weeks, whereas we have to learn and master the basics of a new language in 7 weeks. INTENSIVE learning I would say. However, my Japanese lecturer thinks we are progressing well so far.

I have 5 books with me now (pic above), even though we are currently in only Week 3. There are 2 books for Japanese lesson, 3 for Msian Literature. I heard there is another one coming soon. I have spent the most on books alone in this semester in fact. More books means more to spend and read!!! Aiks*

Oya! I'm back with The Return again... AGAIN!!! Hahaha... My form 5 literature. I did not finish my reading of this book even though I have sat for SPM. Pathetic right? I guess this time I cannot run away from it again, haha... *finish it, irene!*

CF is moving into a new direction. There are lots of plannings and discussions going on every now and then. Busy? Yes. Yet, we are doing all these for Him. =) I really hope we can all work together to achieve 'Sharing Love, Impacting Lives'. Let's do our best and follow the great commandments. I'm really blessed to be able to serve the Lord with all the brothers and sisters in Christ. *HUGS*

Another wonderful good news that really cheer me up since a few days ago, even until now... Can hardly get over it, everytime I think about it, my face become this --> ^______^ Will post it up probably in December, stay tune =P

Went there last month after the final exam with some CG members and friends. Thanks Gabe for bringing us all there. *Elie, Carol, Ervinna, Sarah, Alvin... wish u all were there also!* It was really interesting. Unlike the one in Langkawi. You get to see Pirahna, Bamboo Shark, Starfish, small fish, HUGE fish, ... ... all sort of weird fish also... =P

Experience the Starfish with your own hand is totally another different story, they are just beauties... really!! *thanks spongebob for holding it =P*

I forgot what is the name for this... but all I can remember is that the surface is hard and a little furry...

Bamboo Shark!! Absolutely adorable!! They are so tame and even let everyone to touch them without showing any objection. Basically, they dont really bother to move either, haha...

Erm... I have absolutely no idea what this thing is, it was there on the glass for more than 20 minutes without movement at all, haha...

A HUGE glass with lots of fishes inside...

The 90 metres underwater tunnel. Perhaps they should consider setting seats on the conveyor belt in order for the visitors to rest while enjoying. =)

Z014: Kissaten

Featuring a cafe in Jaya One this time. A great experience with the wonderful friendly service from the bos and the waiters there. From introducing the varieties of dishes to asking feedbacks from the customers. This is what a good cafe/restaurant should do in order to improve the quality of food and services provided.

I read it from somwhere, Kissaten means a type of Japanese coffee house.
For more information, click here --> http://www.kissaten-means-cafe.blogspot.com/

Their lovely well organised menu.

Part of the cafe. Simple and comfortable.

Ice Honey Lemon (RM5.90)

Miso Tonkotsu Ramen (RM16.90)

Some of the dishes we ordered. =)

Cheese cake. A surprise birthday celebration for a friend. =)

Banana Cheese Cake (free) Thanks Kissaten!

Perhaps I wouldn't say all the dishes are super awesome, but credit must be given to the wonderful customer service. One thing about the cakes- cheese cake is not cheesy enough for me and my friends, I always felt that the taste of cheese should taste more than the flour instaed. What do you think?

Cuckoo Celebration

Another year looking up at the same moon, thinking of the years spent together happily celebrating Mooncake Festival. How lovely!

李白诗:
床前明月光,
疑是地上霜。
举头望明月,
低头思故乡。

Celebrating Mooncake Festival here is not that bad after all. We had mooncakes, biscuits, candles, torch lights and no lanterns, haha... Initially, we were playing the candles by making those candles stand in some odd shapes and chinese words. Later, someone saw a group of people celebrating at the roof of a car park building somewhere nearby (note: the red circled picture below). Then, trying very hard to grab attention from them by flashing torch lights and 'ying guang bang' just wanted to say "HELLLOO poeple at the other side of the hilltop!!!" *sweat* Anyway, no idea whether they actually realised our cuckoo greetings from the other building. We only saw twice they flashed red light. Heehee...

That day's celebration was not enough to wear off our energy. Once again, gathered some 'forces' to play a super duper tiring game the next day. We lit candles at the balcony, one by one blow off the candles in sequence using the thin straw. Whoever fails to blow off the particular candle will have to finish one of the almost-due-date-biscuits-stock belong to 'someone'. Mind you, it is not easy at all especially when we put the candles further than the first round (note: first round-left pic; second round-right pic). A few times, I nearly ran out of breath trying to blow off the furthest candle. Haahaa...

Well, that was how I celebrated this year Mooncake Festival. Had too much of mooncakes since 2 weeks ago during study week. BRruuupP!! Thanks pals, for willing go mad with me with some cuckoo games, haha... Not bad at all =)

The Only Princess

Finally! A chance to experience 'the only princess' at home... nyeh nyeh nyeh....

My dear brother and sisters, if you happened to read this post, please do not be jealous, your time will come. *wink*

Went home during the study week. So happened that my DEAR younger siblings went for a trip together on the second day I reached home, also my elder sibling was not around. *BRrooaaAD GRIN* Of course, left di mi me and mikko at home!!!

I have not been spending time alone with my parents for a long time. During the period of time, not only I got all the attention I want *GRIN AGAIN*, basically I follow them everywhere they go and joined every single moment together. I even get to choose what I want to eat and I get to finish all the food in the end... MUAHAHA!!! It was altogether lovely! LOVELY!!! **HUG DI & MI**

We had breakfast, lunch, tea time, dinner and supper together.
We watched movie together.
We went to visit my grands together.
We chatted and laughed together.
We went shopping together.
We cleaned the house together......
(Just me and my parents)

Obviously I dont mean that it's less fun to spend time with my siblings together with my parents. But the feeling was kind of different. Maybe I was just being a little greedy and nasty. I dont know, perhaps I just missed them too much!!

I have always enjoy the time where my family members are finally gathered at home. I treasured those moments, seriously! Somehow it is getting harder to gather everyone at home these lately. Different schedule, different holidays, different responsibilties... even though the distant between us become shorter compared to the previous one. One of the reason why I always longed for Christmas and Chinese New Year.

Anyway, being the only princess at home for 3 days 2 nights was fun! =P

Vroom

It has been raining everyday in PJ. I was trapped in rain almost every time I go out =,=". Even my house mates laughed at me, "Wei! Every time I go out with you, definately it will rain! Yer..." Haha... Today is the worst. Went out in the morning and came back almost all soaked. Then later in the evening, went out for dinner again, came back soaked AGAIN!!

It ended up with: more clothes to wash, shoes never seems to have a dry day to survive, clothes can hardly dry, feeling colder every night, BUT still wont stop me from going out, haha...

When we were on the way back this evening, 9 of us under 5 umbrellas... Had fun in the rain. At the begining, we were walking in a line. Someone cut queue all of a sudden. Then we followed. Haih! Typical 'kia su', haha...

"Woi! Bmmp... Move to the left la... so slow!!"
"Ikut kiri jika tidak memotong.."
"Wei! Cut queue..."
"VRRROooooommmmMM!!!!!"
"Mat rempet... mat rempet... VrrrooommmmMM!!!"

Despite of the heavy rain, we literary 'raced' back to our place. *Sweat!!* It was really fast, gila!! Hahaha.... I just couldn't stop myself from kacau-ing the 'other racers' on the road by making the sound "VRrromm VrrromM!!" haha...

Sometimes, it is really good to have crazy fun once in a while. Welcome to my world!

Z013: First Mapo Restaurant

Two years ago, I felt in love with this food. However, this stall moved to another place due to the super good business. From then onward, I lost track of the stall... was really sad about it...

Just a few days ago, I found the shop. *nyeh nyeh nyeh* Call me silly or blur, haha... Actually it was at the same row but further down towards the other end, haha... *ahem* ANYWAY! Found it and was overjoyed!

A sense of familiarity and longing once I step into the restaurant. Imagine, they once rend a small corner stall in a coffee shop, now with the full ownership under this Mapo Restaurant. How cool! Just imagine how good is the business!

Mapo Restaurant is located right behind Jusco Ipoh and behind Tesco. The same row of shop lots where 1919 is the corner shop. Just a few shops away from 1919. Note: Every Tuesday is closed.

They used to serve only personal set/family set where you order the main dish, which is the type of chicken/fish/meat cooked and it will be served with rice and vege. Now, they have more varieties.

Chicken: Chicken Nestum (superb!), Lemon/ Mango/ Nyonya/ Butter/ Clay Pots/ Sour Sweet/ Lotus/ Thai Style...
Fish: Ginger Garlic/ Black Pepper/ Nyonya/ Sour Sweet/ Pineapple...
Soup: Pickle/ Seaweed/ Ginger Egg/ Fish...
Tofu: Sizzling/ Clay Pots/ Vietnamese/ Seafood...
Ribs, Vege, Prawns, Squid, Deer, Egg and Fried Rice/Mee...

One of the very famous dish: Chicken Nestum!! (a must try!)

Tom Yam soup... it was a little too thick. And my friends complaint the soup was a little too spicy, hmm...
Mango Chicken. Sour and sweet... yumm... It's all about the mango for sure!

Belacan Vegetable =)

Jared wanted to order more at first. Thanks to the boss, she stopped him from ordering more, haha... Asked us to order later if we can finish everything, don't waste food!! If not, me, Carol, Nic and Jared would have suffer, haha... Note: BIG portion!

Price is really reasonable. Personal set is from RM4-6. Others would have to depends. Personal set used to come with rice and vege, but now only the main dish and rice. Well, what can I say? But one thing for sure, the quality is still good, yep!

I was kind of surprised that the boss actually recognised me, haha... "Ei! You used to work in Levi's right?" *fuh! Ganas!* Salute her! Bear in mind, I have seen her for 2 years!!

Lost a friend

A very tough week. So many things waited in line beeping, assignment, presentation, responsible... Assignment has finally come to an end. Still have one more presentation to go, but I am prepared.

An unexpected incident make it even tough to handle. It was on Tuesday, we received the news that Gideon passed away. It hurts a lot. Everyone was shocked with the very sudden news. A gloomy day for everyone who knows him.

I have lost family members and friends whom I'm close to. All of them needed health treatment before they went back to the Lord. I understand. However, this time was not the same.

Never in my life have I attended a funeral wake. Went there with some of the CF members on Wednesday. Some CF members from other campus and CG members were there also. Everyone was in grief. His family members were weeping in grief. Just so hard to accept the fact that he left us. The atmosphere was more than just sadness and heart breaking.

Though I'm not very close to him, but he is a very helpful person. He doesn't mind fetching people here and there. He would tell people frankly to what extend he can offer his help. He won't promise others things that he cannot do it. He was more introvert when I first knew him through CF last year. Ever since the new committee formed, he tried to make it to every week's fellowship and even make newcomers feel comfortable when they first step into CF.

He is back with the Lord now. A better place.

This incident actually triggered off what I've learnt during last year CF camp. I should start writing eulogy for my own funeral. Why? Those who went to the camp would understand perfectly why I said so. That would be my both short & long term goals. At the end of the day, I will leave this temporary world and this is a fact that cannot be changed. I want to be become the 'person' God would please with. The purpose of my life is to live it out for Him.

No one is perfect in this world. We try our best to improve ourselves and break the limit. Always encourage each other, not being a hypocrite.

Be sensitive with the people around us. Treasure them always. *HUGS*

Keep shining for Him while we are still here. Have joy in doing His job! Sing praises and be thankful, may it be happy or tough... We still praise Him!!!

Durian

Almost everyone in this Asian region knows this fruit- The King of Fruit.

What do I know about Durian?

1. A very famous fruit madly deeply loved by many Malaysians. And of course, I am one of them.

2. Comes in different sizes (small-huge), thorny husk and unique odour.

3. Some detest the strong odour and taste. Places such as hotel, airport, ... forbid the present of this fruit due to it smell. We can simply recognise the unique odour from far.

4. How to open it? Some use screwdriver, 'parang', bare hand, saw? (haha!!) Seriously, I have seen people using saw to open it. Totally hilarious!

5. How to eat it? Take it and eat it la! *sweat* hahaa... I love to have durian and rice with a pinch of salt, yummm!!!

6. There are people who believe it is best to eat mangosteen or drink water with a pinch of salt using the empty cell of the durian husk after eating durian.

The above picture was taken during the small durian feast I had with my housemates recently. There was this particular weird shaped durian gave us the 'great time' to hold 'opening ceremony'. After several attempts, we took out our last weapon-knife, and *haiya* it. That was the result of the 'ganas' solution, haha... Nice try, my friends!

Do you like it? I LOVE DURIAN!!! YEAH!!!

Z012: Za Ziang Mian

I have been craving for good 'Za Ziang Mian' (Fried Sauce Noodle) for sometimes. Dreaming of gobble down a BIG bowl of thin noodles with the thick sauce minced. Stir everything together and stuff myself with a mouth full of the super tasty Za Ziang Mian. Woohoo...

This Taiwan Noodles House is located at SS2, next to The Cave. They serve lots of other noodles other than Za Ziang Mian. Price from RM5 onward.

This is a plate of my crave- Za Ziang Mian. To be honest, I was quite disappointed when it was served. First, it was the noodles-too thick. Second, why is it served on a plate? I love to have it in a bowl where you can stir and stir... Plate? Huh?

The result after the 'careful' stirring. The first bite... just as I was expected. Disappointment. The noodles is simply too thick to absorb the sauce. Personally, I think the noodles would taste a lot better if serve with other sauce, not this! The whole dish is simply not balance in terms of taste. I could feel the taste more on the chew of the noodles than the sauce.

When these dialogue happen...
"I wanna come back here for more of this..."
"When can we come again to try other dishes....?"
"I want more...."
Cook/chef! You did it!!!

Too bad, not this time for me. Sorry! Of course, there's always room for improvement, gambateh!
I know I'm very sarcastic in commenting this time, but it really did spoilt my appetite.

Sharing time =)

Just wanna do some sharing this time. Something I learnt a few weeks ago. Yea, I know it was very long ago, yet I think it's very crucial.

There was once I heard from a pastor who said this:
'There was a night in an aeroplane, a lady cried for help. Her husband had a sudden heart attack in the middle of the sleep. Everyone in the plane woke up that moment. Very soon, a pilot made an announcement: "Is there any doctor in the aeroplane? We have an emergency here! We need help from a doctor!" This man was very fortunate because there were 4 doctors on the plane that time.

But what if all the doctors decided not wake up to help the man because they are simply too tired due to the late and long meeting they had the day before? What would happen to the man?

Very similiarly, if God ask us: "Is there any Christian here? There is an emergency! Someone is dying!"

Christian, are you ready to answer this call? Are you prepare to do it now? Or are you even ready?'
(This may not be the exact version because I didn't record it down, sorry. I just type out whatever I can remember...)

Immediately, I took a while to think seriously about what I have just heard.

Am I ready to say 'Yes' now if He calls? Or am I well prepared?
There were times I pondered how ready am I....
I always fear I'm not doing well enough for Him and I fear... a lot ...

"Lord, bless me boldness and wisdom to do your work... "

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
Proverbs 9:10
